GASA is NOT a co-op, business, nonprofit, entity, or organization of any kind. I am one mom volunteering my time to provide group rates and tours for homeschool field trips. Eclectic Homeschooling

GASA offers a community experience of Field Trips, Events & Educational Travel for homeschoolers! We are also happy to help & mentor new homeschool families! GASA is NOT a school, co-op, group, or a business. GASA events are run on a volunteer-only basis by Stefanie Dozier of Stef's Events.
We mentor other homeschoolers and offer tips and freebies, as well as share our personal homeschool journey here, and on Facebook and YouTube. We are ECLECTIC HOMESCHOOLERS, which means that we school using a variety of traditional and nontraditional methods. We focus on hands-on, experience-based, life-skills learning using the Arts and Sciences within our daily education. Alongside hands-on learning, the 3R's, Reading, Writing and Arithmetic, remain our central educational foundation. We learn all core subjects and create our own curriculum. No boxed or online curriculums here! While every child is different, we teach using books, workbooks, documentaries, hands-on activities, experiments, field trips and travel - all at varying levels, depending on the subject. We also create some of our own unit studies and gladly share them with our followers. Our experience-based schedule is enhanced through outside camps and classes, and regular travel within the U.S. and foreign countries. We school at home, on the road or wherever the adventure takes us. We have the freedom to enjoy life to the fullest. We try to make every day count! We school year-round to offer the most flexibility in our personal life and educational opportunities. But WHY Do WE Homeschool?Every family is different... this is our WHY. We moved to the Florida Gulf Coast in 2016. Shortly after, my husband was transferred to Ft. Lauderdale. We were possibly moving there. (It didn't happen! YEAH!) He spent 8 months down there, and Sedona and I spent that time driving back and forth every other week. We homeschooled that year out of necessity. (2nd grade) Our adult children had gone to public and private schools. Like most of you, I was kind of scared to homeschool, but knew I could do it "for a year". HOWEVER, within about 2 months, I knew we would NEVER go back to public school. Ever. It took longer to convince my husband, but eventually he was convinced. Our daughter is always 1-2 grade levels ahead, with much less time spent "schooling", and she can do her schoolwork on his work schedule. Being a hotel manager, he works odd hours and often weekends. If she was in public school, he would literally see her once a week,. Homeschooling fits our family's lifestyle. We love to travel and get up and go. We love the freedom to learn how and where we want and at Sedona's pace!

Gulfside Art & Science Academy - GASA is NOT a co-op, business or organization of any kind. GASA is our family's private homeschool. I am just one mom helping other parents enjoy an amazing homeschool journey... I am a VOLUNTEER facilitator of group field trips. That is all I intend to do - find great field trips with group rates and/or awesome tours that are not otherwise available to individuals. This is a win/win for all of us in the homeschool community! I am merely a facilitator for coordinating field trip events for homeschoolers, on a volunteer basis, and provide NO actual services, including but not limited to, venues, products, food, safety, services, tours, or transportation. Vendors expect one payment for groups, so I coordinate that. I do NOT provide any service other than coordinating the group rate or group tour with a local business or organization. ATTEND ACTIVITIES AT YOUR OWN RISK. I AM NOT LIABLE FOR THE VENUE OR TOURS IN ANY WAY.
